Our own Tipster competition

I was thinking about making a “tipster” lay competition for all the readers of this blog. I was thinking that we maybe put £50 into a pool of money where the winner got 50% number 2 got 30% and number 3 got 10%. (the last 10% will cover paypal commissions and the running of the competition)

What are the interest for this? The competition would last 14 days or so each time. You then just write in your selections each day and I keep track of the standings.

We would need at least 5-10 competitors to make it fun and also possible to earn some money by being the best :-)

I’m in – so that is 1 so far :-) Post a “comment” if you are also interested. I hope we can start very soon :-)

The rules so far, let me know if you want some changes :-)

1) £50 starting fee (10% will be deducted to cover paypal commissions and some of my work)

2) Maximum of 2 selections each day (too much work if everyone laid 10 horses or so)

3) Maximum lay odds of 5.0 (otherwise you could just lay long shots)

4) All results are quoted at level stakes of 100 and at Betfair SP prices

Hope that we are a lot who could find this amusing and also some could see it as a easy way to make some more money out of betting :-)

Sounds fun. Just one problem, depending on when people post their bets the odds could drift outside the 5.0 limit and SP are unpredictable at best.

Then it’s just a void bet, then people can learn to place some lower odds lays ;-) It’s the only possible way to manage the results. If we allowed higher odds then I would just lay some horses at odds 200 or more, then most months I will have won on all my bets and win the competition :-)
